You have the facts and have weighed the options, and still you go back and forth, or you decide and doubt it the next morning. More thinking does not help, because an old fear or belief is usually part of the choice: the fear of losing something, or the belief that you have to live up to what others expect. In the sessions we look at that, so that you can see more clearly what you want.
Many of the people I work with are entrepreneurs, executives or other professionals. They function well on the outside, and in the sessions they talk about what stays hidden at work, such as doubt about their own worth or a constant need to stay in control.
In a session you can think out loud without having to meet expectations or defend yourself. When a decision will not move, we look at what each option means to you. What would you lose, and what would it say about you?
As a certified Adler practitioner I start from the beliefs behind a choice. We form them early in life, about ourselves and other people and about what we have to do to belong, and most of the time we do not notice them. Often one of them is at work, for example that you must never fail or that you have to carry everything alone.
If your sense of worth hangs on results or on other people's approval, a big decision can feel like a threat. Inner stability means having something in yourself to rely on while the outcome is still open, and we work on that too.
Seeing a belief does not make it go away, so part of the work is practical: what you do when the doubt returns, and how you take a first step.
I will not tell you which option to choose, and the sessions do not replace legal, financial or business advice. The aim is that you know what you want and make a decision you can stand behind.
My sessions are consultations. They are not medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
