Burnout rarely comes suddenly. It grows out of years of being strong: you take responsibility, keep everything under control and are there for others - until one day nothing is left for yourself. Tiredness no longer passes after a weekend, and what once gave you energy has turned into duty. That is why I look not only at your workload, but at what makes you carry so much.
Burnout often affects the people others rely on: entrepreneurs, executives, professionals, parents who hold the family together. Some have reached exactly what they wanted and cannot understand why they feel empty inside.
If the exhaustion already affects your sleep or your health, please see a doctor as well.
Adlerian psychology describes three great tasks of life: work, love and friendship. Burnout often appears when one of them, usually work, takes the place of the others, and strength and responsibility leave no room for closeness.
In the sessions we look at the beliefs behind your way of living: that you must not show weakness, that rest has to be earned, that everything will fall apart without you. These convictions once helped you to cope. Today they drain you.
We also work with the present: where your energy goes, what you can let go of, how you can ask for support and allow closeness without feeling that you are losing control.
The aim is a better balance between what you give and what you allow yourself - at work, in love and in your own life.
My sessions are consultations. They are not medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
